Shopify for beauty brands

Beauty Shopify stores that sell shade, routine, and replenishment — without an app stack that slows every PDP.

Beauty catalogs are shade-heavy, claim-sensitive, and subscription-prone. Weblexia builds Shopify for cosmetics, skincare, and hair brands that need honest ingredient content, routine bundles, and a storefront marketing can merchandize without turning the PDP into a landing-page farm.

Typical engagement

  • OS 2.0 architecture for beauty catalogs
  • Shade, finish, and concern metafields
  • Ingredient and how-to-use content model
  • Bundle and routine merchandising sections
  • PDP media budget (swatches, UGC, video)
  • Written reply within two business days
  • Reviewed by a senior lead — not a qualifier
  • A clear decline if the fit is not mutual

01 — What we build

What this engagement covers

  1. 01

    Shade and routine PDPs

Swatches, undertone notes, and routine pairing that stay in the theme — not five apps fighting for the same product card.

  2. 02

    Ingredient and claim content

Metafields for ingredients, usage, and who the product is for, structured so legal and marketing can update copy without a theme deploy.

  3. 03

    Replenishment paths

Subscription and refill UX only where the catalog supports it. We will not bolt a subscription app onto a one-time kit line and call it a system.

02 — What's included

In a typical statement of work

  • OS 2.0 architecture for beauty catalogs
  • Shade, finish, and concern metafields
  • Ingredient and how-to-use content model
  • Bundle and routine merchandising sections
  • PDP media budget (swatches, UGC, video)
  • Subscription and sample-app review
  • Launch, redirects, and merchandiser handover

03 — Process

How the work actually runs

  1. 01

    Catalog and operations

We map how you actually sell: variants, bundles, subscriptions, shipping rules, and who will merchandise the store after launch.

  2. 02

    Storefront architecture

Templates, metafields, and collection logic are specified before theme polish. Apps are chosen against that model — not stacked because a competitor uses them.

  3. 03

    Theme build

Online Store 2.0 sections, PDP performance, and editor training. Campaign modules are built so merchandisers can ship drops without a developer ticket.

  4. 04

    Launch and handover

Staging sign-off, redirects, analytics, and a written operating note. Go-live is a rehearsal, not the first time the catalog is complete.

05 — Why Weblexia

How we partner on this work

  • 01

    Catalog-first, not theme-first

Industry Shopify work fails when a pretty theme is dropped on an unmodelled catalog. We start with variants, merchandising, and checkout constraints.

  • 02

    Merchandisers can operate it

Sections, metafields, and collection rules are built for the team that will run campaigns — not only for the screenshot at launch.

  • 03

    Apps treated as liabilities

Every app is a performance and ops cost. We keep what the category actually needs and document what we refuse to install.

  • 04

    Performance as acceptance

PDP weight, image pipelines, and third-party scripts are part of done. Fashion, beauty, and D2C traffic does not wait for a follow-up speed project.

09 — FAQs

Questions we are asked before a proposal

Can you build shade finders and quizzes?

Yes, when they are scoped as a product decision — theme logic, a maintained quiz, or a single app with a performance budget. We do not stack three quiz tools because each campaign team prefers a different one.

How do you handle ingredient and claim copy?

As structured content merchandisers and compliance can edit. The theme reads metafields. We do not hard-code claims into Liquid for a launch that will be rewritten in week two.

Do you set up subscriptions?

When the catalog and ops support replenishment. We review the subscription app against checkout, discounts, and customer portal behaviour. Recharge, Skio, or native selling plans are a commercial choice — not a default.

Beauty PDPs get heavy. What do you actually do?

Cap app scripts, compress swatch and gallery media, and keep below-the-fold content from blocking first paint. If UGC and video are required, they are lazy and measured — not dumped into the first screen.

Next step

Discuss your beauty Shopify store with the team that ships it.

Share the catalog, the current theme, or the outcome you need. A senior lead replies with a realistic path — discovery, a scoped Shopify build, or a clear decline if we are not the right fit.
