Shopify for sports and fitness

Sports and fitness Shopify stores for kits, equipment, and training drops — sized, bundled, and fast enough for campaign weeks.

Sports and fitness brands mix apparel, hard goods, and training content. Weblexia builds Shopify for athletic and wellness-fitness teams that need size systems, kit bundles, and PDPs that hold up when ads send traffic to a launch — without a theme that only works for fashion lookbooks.

01 — What we build

What this engagement covers

  1. 01

    Kit and equipment catalogs

Apparel sizes and equipment specs in one merchandising model, with bundles that stay in inventory sync.

  2. 02

    Training and sport taxonomy

Collections by sport, intensity, or kit — not a dump of tags the customer cannot parse.

  3. 03

    Launch and team-shop patterns

Drop sections and, where ops exist, team or wholesale-adjacent flows that do not break the consumer cart.

02 — What's included

In a typical statement of work

  • OS 2.0 architecture for sports and fitness catalogs
  • Size, spec, and sport metafields
  • Kit bundle and collection patterns
  • PDP performance budget for campaign landing
  • App review for reviews, loyalty, and waitlists
  • Pre-order messaging only when fulfilment is real
  • Launch, redirects, and handover notes

03 — Process

How the work actually runs

  1. 01

    Catalog and operations

We map how you actually sell: variants, bundles, subscriptions, shipping rules, and who will merchandise the store after launch.

  2. 02

    Storefront architecture

Templates, metafields, and collection logic are specified before theme polish. Apps are chosen against that model — not stacked because a competitor uses them.

  3. 03

    Theme build

Online Store 2.0 sections, PDP performance, and editor training. Campaign modules are built so merchandisers can ship drops without a developer ticket.

  4. 04

    Launch and handover

Staging sign-off, redirects, analytics, and a written operating note. Go-live is a rehearsal, not the first time the catalog is complete.

05 — Why Weblexia

How we partner on this work

  • 01

    Catalog-first, not theme-first

Industry Shopify work fails when a pretty theme is dropped on an unmodelled catalog. We start with variants, merchandising, and checkout constraints.

  • 02

    Merchandisers can operate it

Sections, metafields, and collection rules are built for the team that will run campaigns — not only for the screenshot at launch.

  • 03

    Apps treated as liabilities

Every app is a performance and ops cost. We keep what the category actually needs and document what we refuse to install.

  • 04

    Performance as acceptance

PDP weight, image pipelines, and third-party scripts are part of done. Fashion, beauty, and D2C traffic does not wait for a follow-up speed project.

A senior lead reads your context before the first conversation — not a script, not a junior qualifier. If we are not the right fit, we say so plainly.

09 — FAQs

Questions we are asked before a proposal

Can you support pre-orders for seasonal kits?

When the fulfilment date is honest and the theme says so on PDP and cart. We will not hide a six-week wait behind a standard add-to-cart button.

Do you build team or wholesale shops?

Consumer D2C is the default. Team, club, or wholesale is scoped separately — different catalogs, pricing, and often Shopify Plus or a B2B channel. Mixing both in one theme without a model is how stores leak prices.

We run always-on paid traffic. What changes?

Landing templates, PDP weight, and app scripts get a stricter budget. The store has to survive the ad, not only the homepage hero.

Is fitness the same as health and wellness?

Adjacent, not identical. Wellness leans claims, serving size, and replenishment. Sports leans kit, size, and equipment specs. Brands that sell both get one architecture with two merchandising languages.

Next step

Discuss your sports and fitness Shopify store with the team that ships it.

Share the catalog, the current theme, or the outcome you need. A senior lead replies with a realistic path — discovery, a scoped Shopify build, or a clear decline if we are not the right fit.
