Shopify for food and beverage

Food and beverage Shopify stores built around packs, shipping rules, and replenishment — not a restaurant website with a cart.

Food and beverage D2C fails when flavour variants, case packs, and shipping constraints are treated as theme decoration. Weblexia builds Shopify for CPG, specialty food, and drink brands that need honest delivery windows, subscription or club paths, and collection UX that matches how people actually restock the pantry.

Typical engagement

  • OS 2.0 architecture for F&B catalogs
  • Flavour, pack size, and bundle metafields
  • Shipping and restriction messaging on PDP and cart
  • Subscription or club UX where ops support it
  • Collection patterns for discovery and restock
  • Written reply within two business days
  • Reviewed by a senior lead — not a qualifier
  • A clear decline if the fit is not mutual

01 — What we build

What this engagement covers

  1. 01

    Pack and flavour catalogs

Variants, bundles, and case sizes modelled so discounts and inventory stay truthful at checkout.

  2. 02

    Delivery and restriction rules

Shipping profiles, heat/cold messaging, and age or region gates as operations — surfaced clearly on PDP and cart.

  3. 03

    Club and replenishment paths

Subscriptions or memberships only when fulfilment can keep the cadence. The theme should not promise a weekly box the warehouse cannot pack.

02 — What's included

In a typical statement of work

  • OS 2.0 architecture for F&B catalogs
  • Flavour, pack size, and bundle metafields
  • Shipping and restriction messaging on PDP and cart
  • Subscription or club UX where ops support it
  • Collection patterns for discovery and restock
  • App review for subscriptions, reviews, and loyalty
  • Launch, redirects, and handover notes

03 — Process

How the work actually runs

  1. 01

    Catalog and operations

We map how you actually sell: variants, bundles, subscriptions, shipping rules, and who will merchandise the store after launch.

  2. 02

    Storefront architecture

Templates, metafields, and collection logic are specified before theme polish. Apps are chosen against that model — not stacked because a competitor uses them.

  3. 03

    Theme build

Online Store 2.0 sections, PDP performance, and editor training. Campaign modules are built so merchandisers can ship drops without a developer ticket.

  4. 04

    Launch and handover

Staging sign-off, redirects, analytics, and a written operating note. Go-live is a rehearsal, not the first time the catalog is complete.

05 — Why Weblexia

How we partner on this work

  • 01

    Catalog-first, not theme-first

Industry Shopify work fails when a pretty theme is dropped on an unmodelled catalog. We start with variants, merchandising, and checkout constraints.

  • 02

    Merchandisers can operate it

Sections, metafields, and collection rules are built for the team that will run campaigns — not only for the screenshot at launch.

  • 03

    Apps treated as liabilities

Every app is a performance and ops cost. We keep what the category actually needs and document what we refuse to install.

  • 04

    Performance as acceptance

PDP weight, image pipelines, and third-party scripts are part of done. Fashion, beauty, and D2C traffic does not wait for a follow-up speed project.

09 — FAQs

Questions we are asked before a proposal

Can Shopify handle shipping restrictions for food?

Shopify can express profiles, rates, and some product restrictions. Complex perishable or alcohol rules often need a reviewed app or a fulfilment partner. We map the real constraint before we paint it on the PDP.

Do you build subscription snack or coffee clubs?

Yes, when skip, swap, and cadence are defined with ops. A club that cannot change flavour without a support ticket is not ready for a polished portal.

We sell wholesale and D2C. Is that in scope?

D2C storefront is the default scope. Wholesale or B2B on Shopify is a separate commercial decision — Plus, a wholesale channel, or a distinct flow. We will not hide a wholesale price list on a consumer theme.

How do you treat nutrition and allergen copy?

As structured content merchandisers can update. Allergens and ingredients should not live only in a packed image of the label.

Next step

Discuss your food and beverage Shopify store with the team that ships it.

Share the catalog, the current theme, or the outcome you need. A senior lead replies with a realistic path — discovery, a scoped Shopify build, or a clear decline if we are not the right fit.
