Handmade brand website development

Handmade brand websites that tell the truth about making time — craft and catalog, not a dropshipping theme with a maker story overlay.

Handmade brands sell process, batch, and scarcity. Weblexia designs and builds sites for makers and craft labels that need photography, origin stories, and a cart that does not pretend every SKU is in a warehouse. Lead times and made-to-order rules belong on the PDP; inventory theatre does not.

Typical engagement

  • Brand IA and key templates
  • Design and implementation on the agreed platform
  • Lead-time and availability patterns
  • Product templates for craft catalogs
  • Performance on image-heavy pages
  • Written reply within two business days
  • Reviewed by a senior lead — not a qualifier
  • A clear decline if the fit is not mutual

01 — What we build

What this engagement covers

  1. 01

    Maker and origin storytelling

Process, materials, and people as templates you can update when the studio changes.

  2. 02

    Honest availability

Pre-order, made-to-order, and batch messaging when that is how you work.

  3. 03

A store that fits the studio

Shopify or WooCommerce as scoped — small catalogs done well, not marketplace clones.

02 — What's included

In a typical statement of work

  • Brand IA and key templates
  • Design and implementation on the agreed platform
  • Lead-time and availability patterns
  • Product templates for craft catalogs
  • Performance on image-heavy pages
  • Launch and handover notes

03 — Process

How the work actually runs

  1. 01

    Brand and catalog reality

How you sell, who merchandises, and which platform actually fits — written before design polish. We will not start in Figma against an unchosen stack.

  2. 02

    Architecture

Templates, content model, and commerce rules if there is a cart. Platform choice is part of this step, not a logo on the proposal cover.

  3. 03

    Design and build

Figma where it earns its keep, then implementation on Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, or Webflow as scoped. Performance on the templates that take traffic is part of the same pass.

  4. 04

    Launch and handover

Staging sign-off, redirects, analytics, and notes the team can operate. Go-live is a rehearsal.

05 — Why Weblexia

How we partner on this work

  • 01

    Category constraints first

Jewellery, skincare, and furniture do not share a theme. We start with catalog, claims, and fulfilment — then pick the stack.

  • 02

    Platform as a decision

Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, and Webflow are tools. We recommend one in writing. We will not implement three 'just in case'.

  • 03

    Operators can run it

CMS fields, sections, and merchandising rules are built for the people who ship campaigns after we leave.

  • 04

    No invented prices

Investment follows discovery. Published bands on the pricing hub orient the conversation; the statement of work follows the catalog and stack.

Partnership signal

What happens when you reach out

A senior lead reads your context before the first conversation — not a script, not a junior qualifier. If we are not the right fit, we say so plainly.

Qualified inquiries receive a written response within two business days — often with a proposed discovery shape, not a generic rate card.

06 — Capabilities

What we typically implement

  • Craft storytelling
  • Made-to-order UX
  • Small-catalog commerce
  • Brand sites
  • Figma
  • Shopify
  • WooCommerce
  • Webflow

Investment

Productized economics

Published ranges and tiers orient the conversation — final statements of work reflect your stack, traffic, and risk profile after a short consultation.

Consultative engagement

  • Design engagements are scoped as partnerships — milestones, success metrics, and governance are agreed before material engineering spend.
  • Review engagement models on the pricing hub, then book a consultation for a tailored proposal.

09 — FAQs

Questions we are asked before a proposal

We only have forty SKUs. Is this too much?

No. Small catalogs still need IA, photography discipline, and a cart that matches making time. We will not staff a marketplace architecture for a studio line.

Etsy plus a brand site?

Possible. The brand site should not fight Etsy on price and stock unless you have a plan. We can link or migrate; we will not sync two inventories by hand forever.

Custom commissions?

Inquiry and brief flows work well. A full custom configurator is only in scope if you can fulfil what it generates.

Next step

Discuss your handmade brand website with the team that ships it.

Share the catalog, the current site, or the outcome you need. A senior lead replies with a realistic path — discovery, a scoped build, or a clear decline if we are not the right fit.
